What is Gather The Spirit For Justice?
The mission of Gather the Spirit for Justice (Gather the Spirit) is to “strengthen community in Allison Hill, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.”
Who do you serve?
Most of our Allison Hill neighborhood folks are low-income, and many are homeless.
For the census tract immediately surrounding the community center, census data shows an estimated 2020 median family income of only $35,306 and a minority population of 88%.
How can I help?
We welcome volunteers willing to serve! Show up with ready hands at the First Church of the Brethren (219 Hummel Street) between 7:30-noon, and we’ll find a place for you.
Our breakfast prep begins at 7:30. Our peak breakfast serving hours are between 9-11 with clean up from 11-noon. Our ESL classes run from 10-11:45.
Do you accept donations?
We gladly accept individual toiletry contributions, toiletry drives, or breakfast food/beverage donations. See our “Donate“ page for our frequently requested items.
